Brief Description:  Work on Canopy Fairing

Sanded the Canopy Foams which had the epoxy microballoon mixture I applied yesterday. It certainly is easier to sand than flox. Placed clear packaging tape over the duct tape on the F-1240 Upper Fuselage Skin and the side of the fuselage. Applied Meguiars release agent/wax on the packaging tape. Cut fiberglass cloth pieces matching the template. Applied epoxy resin on the surfaces where the fiberglass will permanently bind (Canopy, Canopy Skirts and Canopy Foams). Applied 5 layers of fiberglass on each side per the plans. Had to place each layer quickly because the epoxy resin I was using was gelling rapidly. Had to mix small batches of resin and hardener to have more working time with the epoxy. The smaller batches seem to harden slower than the larger batches. This is my first serious fiberglass layup and it is not easy. The glass cloth seem to contract after cutting and it was easy to displace the layers. Tried to get rid of the all the bubbles under the cloth but the glass layers get easily moved while doing so. Applied peel ply fabric over the layup.
