Brief Description: Trial installed the Wings and installed the Flaper
Been busy at work and had a family emergency which prevented me from working on the airplane for over a month. I was able to bring some help today to move the Wings. Filed the spar openings in the fuselage but still had difficulty advancing the last 1/4 inch of the spars. The shop heads in the spars were protruding and were getting caught by the fuselage skin. I had to grind the heads a little bit to fully advance the spars. I was able to secure the spars with the spar pins indicating correct placement. Dented the skin a little bit with the advancing and pulling of the wings but this should be an easy fix. Took the wings off to install the Flaperons. I had difficulty inserting the AN3 bolts into the W-1216 hinges and had to enlarge the holes slightly with a #12 drill bit. I'll torque the nuts at a later time.
I noticed the gap between the bottom, inboard skins of the wings is too close to the fuselage skin. I will have to file/trim these parts later.
