Colten, Tanner and I made our annual trip to Oshkosh again this year. The convention was full of action and new things to see including the Airbus A380, White Knight, and many other aircraft. Tanner and Colten both said their favorite part was listening to Col. Bud Anderson give a presentation about his time flying P-51's for the Army Air Force during WWII. Bud was very humble for having been an Ace with 16 1/4 victory's in Europe. He flew with Gen. Chuck Yeager and Bob Hoover and many other brave pilots. The boys were able to meet and talk a little bit with Mr. Anderson and it was an experience I hope they always remember. There aren't many serviceman around from that period, let alone many figter pilot aces.
Other highlights of the show were getting to have an upclose look of the A380 and also see it perform right in front of us. It is an amazing aircraft with immense size.
The best part for me was just being able to spend several days with the boys. The aircraft and airshow are exciting, but hanging around the campfire talking and seeing what kind of goofy crap they come up with next is hilarious. We missed Jim and Jack and hope they can come back next year.
