Brief Description: The DRDT-2 Dimpler arrived and was assembled
Today the DRDT-2 Dimpler was delivered by FedEx. It weighs about 60 pounds and is quite the beast. It went together very easy and is well built. The main advantage of this tool is that it will be very quiet as opposed to the C-Frame impact type dimpler that you hit with a hammer and it should produce a more repeatable, higher quality dimple as a result. I emailed back and forth a couple times with the owner of ExperimentalAero, the company that makes the DRDT-2. He seems like a really good guy, has four kids about the same age as mine, and is also building an RV-7. He has been at it for about five years and is ready to mount the engine. I am sure running a sideline business takes a lot of his time. He makes a quality product that I look forward to putting through its' paces.
