My Bell tail wheel fork arrived this week. It looks good and will be a better fork and give more ground clearance when on grass strips and taxiways than the stock Van's version.
I met Doug Bell in 2006 at Oshkosh. He and his Dad built a nice RV-8 and started selling their after-market tail wheel forks a few years ago.
While at Oshkosh 2006 displaying his polished airplane at a vendors booth, someone left the master switch on and ran down the battery. On the Monday after the show was over, Doug was sitting under a little tent near the flightline and the boys and I happened to walk by. It was a really hot day so I stopped under the shade and talked with him for a few minutes. He was a really nice guy and told of how he and his dad built the airplane together and how much the experience meant to him. His dad passed away this summer and I am sure he will cherish the memories of building that airplane.
