I haven't done any solid riveting so a bit of readying, Youtube and practise pieces before I got into it. I also had to build a riveting tool. You can use an air hammer and bucking bar but this seems to require skils that I haven't developed yet. Solid rivets are not used anywhere else other than the main spare so you don't have to do any accept fo the modification. So not much practise on rivet hammering.
Squeezing is the other methiod if access is good. The spare being not attached to the wing has pretty good access accept that the cap is wide and so most rivet squeezers can't reach around the cap. I have a hand rivet squeezer but it can't do the 3/16 rivets. I looked ayt using a shop ptress from SuperCheap Aviation supplies but the spare wouldn't fit in. So I built an assemble to fit into my large vise.
