Brief Description: VS Build Up For Final Hole Sizing
This kit was so old that the ribs and front spar were not pre-drilled. To make matters worse, I was working from just 2-year old preview plans which merely indicated to cleco the parts together -- no mention of locating and drilling the holes. I guess I'm too used to the match drilled holes so I ordered the newer replacement parts. I'll use the old ones for setting up the C-Frame dimpler which can be see with its table covered in blue indoor/outdoor carpet below. The VS frame structure is clecoed together here to do the final match drilling (#40) of the skin. The rear spar has been final match drilled (#30). Will have to take all this apart, debur, dimple and countersink the various holes before it can be riveted together. I'm putting 4 hours on this as a guess because of the other preparation steps of edge deburing, marking the rear spar for hinge brackets and ribs for which, sadly, I do not have photos.
Hung up the HS on the back wall of the garage and taped N618KM on for "inspiration".
