Brief Description:  Oil / Air separator

After much consideration, I decided to add the "anti-splat aero" oil/air separator. It routes the crankcase breather through a canister that used centrifugal force to separate the oil from the air, allowing the oil to drain back into the crankase and the excess air pressure to be vented overboard.

The system also includes a one-way vacuum valve on one of the exhaust pipes, helping to draw the air through the canister creating a slightly lower pressure in the crankcase which should discourage leaks and give me an extra horse or two. Also, any oil that wasn't seperated should be burned up in the hot exhaust gas, hopefully keeping the belly of the plane spotless.... we'll see !! I've got to get an -AN4 to -AN6 adapter fitting to finish the install, that way I can connect the smaller stainless steel braided hose to return the separated oil back into the crankcase via the valve cover. By the way, I made the custom bracket to support the cannister, I've discovered how much I truly enjoy sheet metal fabrication, another important life skill ;-))))
