Another small victory. I installed, wired up, and successfully tested the low fuel warning light. As long as the header tank in the fuselage behind the pilot bulkhead stays full, the light remains unlit. However, as soon as the level begins to drop, a switch at the top of the tank makes contact and turns on the red light on the panel, warning the pilot that he has less than 2 gallons of fuel remaining. Nice feature, hope to never see it in action!!!
It also has a small momentary push button switch to allow the pilot to test that the light (bulb) works as a part of pre-flight checks. Flying with a burned out bulb, or otherwise non functional light would rob you of this most important warning.
