Brief Description:  Aft Battery move completed

It always takes more time than you think! Moving the batteries to a newly constructed full aft tray was one thing, rewiring is another! I didn't want any joints or potential weak spots, so I ordered all new aircraft grade wiring and rewired the main cables, solenoid energizer, and ignition wires each with new, one piece runs from the battery to the panel. I had to pull the old wires out and fish the new continuous run wires back through, put ends on them, and reconnect everything. I also improved the set up with my newly accquired experience :-) I ran a seperate wire for Ignition A and B from the batteries all the way to each switch. Before I had one wire coming to the panel, then splitting it for each switch. This little hassel helped me make a good improvement for safety and reliability.

You can also see the orange ELT now phycically mounted in the same area. I had to get out the soldering iron to get it connected (a wire for power, ground, GPS data, and test). The new generation ELT's talk to satelites and give the exact GPS location, pretty impressive! The anntennae for the ELT is connected, all is complete for the ELT. Once I installed wire looms for chafing protection I can now say that I think I'm offically done with the tail section!!! It sure felt good to flip the master switch back on and see the avionics power up again, its been a while!!
