Brief Description:  Fuel flow test 2

It passed, it passed!!! After redesigning the fuel lines, I tried the same test again. I really need 12 gallons per hour to give 150% of what is needed to ensure avoiding fuel starvation in an extreme situation. It turns out that flowing the fuel though the electric fuel pump adds A LOT of restriction. Now with only 12 gallons on board, showing 1/4 tank in each sight tube, in LEVEL flight attitude I get 29gph with the auxillary boost pump and 25.5gph with simple gravity flow. In the EXTREME CLIMB angle, I get 27.5gph with the pump and 20.6 on gravity alone!!!! YES!!! Now my backup pump is back to being a backup, not a primary! Incredibly, with only 5 gallons remaining in the entire system (2.5 is in the collector tank at the bottom of the fuselage) I was still getting 15gph, which is still a decent margin against the estimated 8-10gph at full throttle. Whew, on to the next challenge... the cabin heat muff. And then I'll be close to thinking about finally closing up the cowling.
