Brief Description:  install piston/cylinder combination

After installing the rod bearings, each rod was installed on the crankshaft and carefull step torqued per instructions. Zip ties were used to prevent the rod from touching the case when the crankshaft was rotated around to install the other rodas. After the rods were installed, each cylinder was carefully lower over the head bolts until the wrist pin could be slid through the upper rod bearing to connect the piston and rod. The front spiral lock had to be installed on each rod before the next cylinder could be added which would block access to the pin. A small bead of gray rtv was put on the contact surface of the cyliner, case connection to provide an oil seal. Simple hold down hardware was constructed out of scrap aluminum square tubing to apply 10 pounds of torque pressure overnight to "set" the sealer.
