Brief Description:  Engine core uncrated

Ain't she pretty?? It was soooo good to get wrenches in my hand again instead of sandpaper!!! After a long day, things are settled. The elevator, horizontal stabilzer, fin, rudder, and two outer flaperons were taken to the hanger and put in dust free storage along with the wings. The engine which had been waiting patiently in its crate in the hanger was loaded up and brought home. After uncrating, I hung it on an engine stand per Dan Weseman's assembly manual. Being able to rotate it should be very useful as I install the cylinders, pistons, and heads. The 3.3L come with the bottom end assembled since he has to verify the tight tolerance the longer throw "stoker crankshaft" takes. Since that is where most of the critical tolerances/issue are, I'm kinda glad that its already done! So... the case is assembled with the crankshaft and camshaft installed and timed. The 5th bearing, starter ring gear, hybrid bolts, saftey shaft, and prop hub are installed on the front. The distributor gear, high volume pump, and harmonic balancer are installed on the aft end. Now to prep the cylincers, fit/install rings, pistons, rods, and the heads.... can't wait!!
