Brief Description:  Getting Ready for Inspection

A paper template was used to find the placement of the FAA Dataplate. The real dataplate should arrive sometime this week and I'll install it before the inspection. The aluminum breather tube that was fabricated yesterday was installed. Also, many moons ago, I received a plate from Bruce Harrington to prevent fuel from entering the cockpit via the fuel filler area. I finally got around to installing the plate and sealed it with high temperature, fuel resistant silicone sealer. Over the last two days, I performed the initial conditional inspection and no issues were found. The logbook was annotated with the required FAA statement for the inspection. During the conditional inspection, I could hear a slight rubbing coming from the right aileron. What I found was that the bolt head on the lead counterweight was rubbing a nearby wing rib. I plan to replace the bolts with structural countersunk screws and this should fix the rubbing. The parts have been ordered from Aircraft Spruce via Priority Mail.
