Brief Description:  Installing COM Antenna and Coax

The location for the Comant CI-122 antenna was determined and the mounting holes were drilled. The larger hole for the Coax/BNC connector was also drilled. A doubler and cable protector was constructed earlier in the week and mounted in the cockpit area. It is held in place with the antenna mounting screws and bolts. The coax cable was painfully routed next to the firewall stiffener, up above the rudder pedals, and then along the left side to the panel. The SWR was checked with a digital MFJ Antenna Analyzer. The antenna is resonant at 134 Mhz and has an SWR of 2:1 at 122 Mhz. I also replaced the COM radio, which was a Microair M760, with a new FlightLine FL-760. The main reason being that the Microair needs some service work done.
