Brief Description: CHT and EGT Probes Installation
After running into problems yesterday with installing the CHT probes, I gave it some more thought. I decided to use a metal cutting bit and a Dremel tool to open up enough room to have the probe and the socket for the Sparkplug. This worked great and all six of the CHT probles were installed after the modification. Next, due to the tight cowling of the Sonex, the EGTprobes had to be carefully positioned. On each exhaust, a ring was marked 4" from the flange. This is the point that Jabiru indicated the probe should be mounted. Next a point was located that wold allow the probe to be mounted without interference. Four of the EGT probes were installed. On the fifth, a small accident happened with a drill bit and my hand, so I decided to stop for the day.
