Started the assembly of the Flap. During the assembly, I noticed that flap hinge position was not matching the drawing. What I found after examining the previoius drawing page was that I had made an error in laying out the skin. Instead of measuring 5/16" I measured 15/16" which removed too much skin metal. After reviewing the plans to see how I might recover I contacted Sonex-LTD for their opinion. They gave me two options, first to add a piece of aluminum to replace the missing metal or second to replace the flap skin. I decided to replace the flap skin and redo the flap. The other method would have added weight and complexity. Sonex-LTD is going to ship new Flap skins and ribs.
