Brief Description:  Installed TriGear Landing Gear

With the engine mount installed, I moved on to installing hte Tri-Gear front landing gear. The gear leg was provided in the kit, but had powder coating paint in area's that needed to be removed. The Paint Stirper used to strip the engine mount was again used on gear leg. The paint on the upper end of the gear leg was removed. I also made a change from the plans. Based on some recommendations from another Sonex Tri-Gear owner who is flying, I replaced the two Oil-Sintered bushings with a full length Delrin Rod . This makes for a much smoother action of the front gear shock mechanism. The Main Spring was provided with the kit. The gear axle bushing, which was provided with the kit, had to be mahcined down to the correct size. The wheel was installed, and then the whole assembly was placed on engine mount. The top weld mount was bolted on, finishing the Tri-Gear Installation.
