Brief Description:  Fuel Tank Drilling

Layout of the holes was easy as per the drawings. Cutting the hole was harder. The tank skin is thin and light but as well it oil cans in and out which does make drilling with the circle cutter difficult. You do want to make sure that it is a perfect hole as there is only an 1/8th inch tolerance around the hole for the gasket. I used the circle cutter to score the circle but found that once I scored it it was easier, and safer, to use the nibblers to nibble away the hole.
A little filling and scotch brite and we were in good shape. I then installed both units marking the location of the long screw (Incase I need to remove I don't want to lose the ring into the tank). I also marked the direction of the float and vertical alignment of the unit.
Next I filled both tanks up with water. This did two things, the obvious which is test for leaks but it also flushed out any shaving left from drilling.
No leaks.
There are two different types of senders (not noted in the drawings or assembly guides) that have different resistance ratings when testing. They have matching fuel gauges to go with them. So I marked them accordingly. Tested both senders in the full through to empty and got the required ohms of resistance.
