Installed right wing fuel tank brackets before riveting skins on,
Dimpled all skins and reinstalled on wing frame alone with ail and flap hinges. Ready to rivet skins on.
I like to lightly debur the dimpled hole one more time before installing rivets. I think it makes the rivet set better. IMO Image #2
Right wing riveting completed, ready to start on left week next.
I was on vacation this past week, back to work Monday:(
LESSONS LEARNED: To fit wing skins start by drilling a #40 hole at the rib and rear spar intersection, inboard and outboard end. Pull fishing line or dental floss to be sure rear spar is staight with 7/16" ref line. Skins should line up prefect with you other ref lines on ribs and spars.
Be very careful installing the leading edge skin.
Four extra rivet holes required on leading edge skin 2 on top and 2 on bottom near fuel tank.
Install fuel tank brackets before skins are riveted on. NAS6603-19 Spar bolts not long enough with fuel tank brackets installed.
Be sure you have all your holes dimpled before installing skins, I missed one but lucky it was on the rear spar and I caught it before I started riveting skins.
