Installed flange strip on instrument panel and firewall #40 drill. Clamped instrument panel into position, Clecoed upper firewall only into postion ( remove lower firewall for access while drilling)
Layed out top deck skin holes and drill instrument panel and firewall. Drill slow while drilling SS firewall and have extra hand hold a back up on firewall flange while drilling. This keeps SS firewall tab from bending over while you drill.
Laying out the top deck skin side holes plans call for 5/16" from panels, not enough room to install nutplates or camlocs recpt. I used 3/4" from both instrument and firewall then ever 4" from there.
