Brief Description:  Painting a wing

After 3 days of prep - jigs, masking, washing, PreKote, booth cleaning, etc, we paint the wing. Once it got started I couldn't stop.

I was very conscious of using too much paint so I went a bit faster.

Priming - I used maybe half of what I did on the ailerons and flaps - worked fine.

Final - I used twice the prime (cross coat) which is maybe 75% of what I used on aileron and flaps. That may have been too little. I seem to have a lot more texture and orange peel. We'll see tomorrow whether if flattens out a bit.

Anyway, feels like a lot got done. Dust is the enemy. And I seem to have dropped a big wad of sweat on the top. A little patch will be required there.

The jig permits single person flips which is good given the number of times I flipped with no obvious partner available. But, I strained an arm on the first turn. Given that I have pretty good upper body strength, I"m not sure that flipping this thing single handed is all that doable for the less than "old man muscular" types. But it works really well and safely if you have the strength. Better grips on the root would help.
