Brief Description:  Deburring, dimpling, F-601 and F-604

Today I deburred and smoothed all of the components of the F-601 firewall. In order to complete this tedious task, I had to removed the protective plastic coating from every doubler plate and gusset on the firewall. The plastic had been there for 20 years...so removal was time consuming. None the less, I ended my work on the firewall by finally getting the chance to utilize the DRDT2 that I have had sitting. It's a great tool! I still need to cleam, etch, and prime. I also need to countersink the aluminum angle. That will be for another day.

I assembled the WD-610 control column with the F-633 control column mounts as called out in the Frank Justice assembly notes. I carefully measured and marked the centerline in order to ensure the control mount is centered on the bulkhead. I mounted the F-633 mounts to the F-604 bulkhead and carefully drilled them out to match the factory holes in the F-604A. Then, I set them aside to be primed in the future.

I finished todays efforts by laboriously removing more 20 year old plastic from the various sub-components of the F-604 bulkhead. Long day full of many small things.

Happy New Year!
