Brief Description:  elevator balancing

plumeber friend of mine provided me with these lead ingots . Each at 5 pounds . at this point the elevators are being balanced individually. They are not connected to the horn. the ingots where sanded and and recieved heavy cross hatching on the mouting surface to help set the lead to the elevator end rib with west and glass beads. Then bothe where bolted to the end ribs.

After all was secure material was removed by drilling and boring holes to bring the elevators close to balanced but still one inch nose heavy.

Now both are bolted to the horn and the entire elevator was balanced together evenly by again removing material from both sides bringing the whole peice within one half inch of balanced but still nose heavy.

The final balancing will be sfter the faings are added to the end ribs and the final prime / sealer coat will be sprayed to bring the unit into true balance .
