Brief Description:  began making an accurate mold for windscreen

The wind screen I had made at airplane plastics is "TOO WIDE" , Im not sure were the dimentions for his mold came from , although he mentioned the 3D he worked off of to make the mold was in fact from Richard Siers ( aircraft designer ). It is my opinion the mold was made for a particular barracuda that had been widened . I was there when Jeff at aircraft plastics was measureing the wind shield as it cooled when removed from the oven. He was looking for 45" at the lower corners. It had been a long day and I was unprepared , I knew 45" didnt seem right , but i had no data or prints with me . My fuse is to plans and is true @ 41.750 . There is some question on the plans about this number - per the fuse print its called out at 41" however the Bow profile print calls the OD at 41.750 . I decided to keep the .750 . At any rate the windshiled is still 3.250" to wide .

jeff had said if it needed to be adjusted to get it back to him . This time I am going with a mold or form and the canopy bows and well do it right there.

I dont want to spend a great deal of time on this mold but what I have done is this. The template of poster board is too weak to support laying up fiberglass on for a mold . So I used the template to make a 1/8 masonite template. Clamped in place , steamed the corners and rolled into postition . After the masionite dryed it held the form nicely with little spread . Im going to call jeff and see what he would do from here - I dont want to spend alot on fiberglassing unless I have to.
