I had to think this one thru a bit and chose the following option as best choice. The upper canopy filler strip has same profile as the upper canopy bow . Manual call out is to "fill" area with spruce. Seemed like a lot of tedious and frustrating block work with multiple gluing sessions .
Went to the lumber store and got some clear poplar. Glued with west epoxy to make a 3"x 3 1/2" x 36" board . Layed the canopy door top bow on the board -traced and cut the filler. I will be able to nest the other door also on this same block.
