This aircraft was designed in 1976 . The instrument panel rod was designed to go straight across from loneron to longeron. In 1976 this was not a problem ,today its a bit of a problem unless you plan on using all round steam gauges. The instrument panel bow height is 9.5 inches high , minus the 3/4 depth of the bow and the 3/4 diameter of the origional rod ( placed straight across the longerons) - leaves only 8 " between the both to place glass panels. Thankfully I caught this earlier as another builder had seen the problem and made a similar deviation. I lowered my instrument panl rod by 3 " . This will give room for my Dynon Efis system .
