I decided the best way to form the canopy land was to mate up the aft canopy bow with the station 123 bow. I inset the canopy bow 3/8 of an inch all around the perimeter of the 123 bow and clamped in place. The reason for the 3/8 " is for the thickness of the 1/4" canopy ( instaed of the 1/8 as called out ) . Additionally the 123 bow will gain 1/16 " with the skin applied . Total offset would be 7/16" = 4/16"glass + 3/16 for sealant and upholstry . Sikaflex calls for 3/16 and this should be able to be accomplished , the leather wont wrap entirerly around the bow.
After forming the lands to the bow , I used T88 to butt join the pieces and let sit to cure. Once cured I will carefully unclamp everything and use the land as a template to make the ply doubler for the land. The spruce land and the doubler will be laminated to the 123 bow, I purposely left the inside widths of both lands a little big . Once they are laminated to the bow I will run the router with flush trim bit to clean it up nicely.
