Brief Description:  Installation Of Seat Pan & Back - Part 2

Once alignment of the seat pan and back were satisfactory, a 3/16" hole was drilled through the tabs and fiberglass. Temporary bolts and regular washers and nuts were installed. The nuts will eventually be replaced with nylon stops nuts on final assembly. There is one hidden tab that must be drilled blind. B.J. recommended measuring the distance and then drilling it. I came up with a unique way that I think may be a little more accurate. I held a 500 lumen LED flashlight on the inside of the seat depression and shown it towards the hidden tab. In Image 2 you can see how the tab appears when backlit and the lights are turned out. The left side of the photo shows the tab by itself with the hole in it. The right side of the photo shows what the backlighting looked like after I put a Sharpie mark on the fiberglass in line with the hole in the tab. I did double check with a ruler to make sure this mark made sense. In Image 3 you can see how cleanly the drill bit came through the hidden tab.
