Brief Description:  Engine Work

1. Set distributor drive shaft end play (factory speck 0.02''-0.05''). Used 4 shims, one of which was reduced in thickness to achieve 0.023'' measurment for endplay.

2. Installed distributor to hold shaft in position, aligned to #1 firing order (note: existing distributor cap was misnumberd with a sharpie marker). Conflict with manual descriptions but resolved with online guide. DISTRIBUTOR WAS INSTALLED JUST TO HOLD SHAFT IN UNTIL MAGNETO IS PURCHASED.

3. Installed main bearings and cam bearings into case dry, lubed inner surfaces after. Installed lifters with adequate lubrication, ensured freedom of movement.

4. Set crank shaft into position in engine, timing marks straddle case parting line facing downward

5. Set camshaft into case half with timing mark in between timing marks on crankshaft gear

6. Ensured distributor timing mark was still @ #1

7. Checked proper crank seating on drift pins looking for #2 main bearing to "shave" oil off as rotated as per manual

8. Checked Camshaft Backlash using manual methods while rotating crank to ensure camshaft didn't "hop" out of the case or have excessive backlash.

9. Rotated crankshaft to allow for lubrication of camshaft lobes and bearing journals.
