Evaluated condition of used VW1600cc - thrust bearing journal pounded out L case: min. 20.5mm R case: min. 20.4mm
Main Journal: 55mm (i.e. standard: never line-bored) Crank: 55mm (i.e. never turned)
Plan: (1) Thrust cut to min. 20mm or MORE; order 2mm oversize thrust bearing & cut to fit (2) Line bore case halves (3) Order oversize OD bearings; std. ID (4) Order new rods?
Still need to measure crank run-out & clean case/check for cracks
