Tested Joint-2 to failure - bottom capstrip clamped in vise - leverage from 1.5" PVC pipe - force applied in twist
Failure #1 at top capstrip (tension)- (epoxy joint pulled wood apart at the grain) Failure #2 at lower portion (compression) of gusset (epoxy joint held and gusset failed uniformly)
I'm happy and have confidence in joints and that strength of epoxy joint exceeds strength of the wood.
