Brief Description: Drill left wing spar flanges & j-channel (13-1)
I figured based on s a little research that left and right are pretty much mirror images of each other, so I plan to just work both at the same time. I cut the j-channel to size (long & short) and clamped it in place. I spent a little time trying to make an adjustable marker holder that will hold the fine tip sharpie and then I can adjust the stop-rest so that it will give me a 1/16 offset. This worked for a visual que, but I ended up using a 1/16 shim to set the proper height above the spar flange for the j-channel. I also taped of the holes that we not supposed to be final drilled. I looked ahead, section 16, to figure out the ‘why?’ and see where these j-channels get used. The spar flange is being used as a template for the skin holes, where the j-channels will get used. All went well, but I think I used the wrong j-channels for the short lengths, so I order some more 8 ft lengths of j-channel. Left wing j-channels are complete, marked and set aside.
