Brief Description: Battery tray and bellcrank (10-17)
I spent most of the day researching on modifications people have done to the tray for a dual battery set-up. I found a lot of information on batteries and placement locations (firewall fwd or aft cone), but much like primer wars, everyone has an opinion. I actually found very little on how people had modified the tray. My plan is to install 2 EarthX (EXT900) batteries in the cone…mostly because I plan on using EFII electronic ignition in place of both mags, and I want the extra redundancy of an extra battery. These are decisions I can make later, but I wanted to at least research on how to modify the battery tray. There were lots of folks that install 2 batteries, but didn’t explain how to secure them. After many hours, I decided to build on and just stick with the plans for now…maybe I’ll just stay with 1 EarthX (EXT1200). I’ll would still need to modify the tray a little to hold the smaller battery, but I have seen some cool concepts for that…more research needed. Anyway, I completed the parts for the tray and bellcrank.
