Brief Description: Countersink rear elevator spar (9-8)
The directions call to countersink 29 holes on top of the rear elevator spar. The flange is pretty thin for a countersink, so I used some scrap material to help keep the countersink bit centered. This worked pretty well, but still ends up oversizing the hole in order to get the right depth. The hinge will go underneath, so it will provide a good grip for the rivets and the flange will just be sandwiched between the skin and hinge. I also set up the drill press to countersink the trail edge holes. Again, I used the wedge tool from Cleveland Tools, which works well.
