Brief Description: Riveted rear deck & Top Skin (10-22,10-23)
I moved the Emp down to the floor on a few blankets and got everything set-up to start attaching the aft top skin. Cyndi held the gun and I worked inside holding the bucking bar. We started with the J-channel stiffeners, then worked our way down from the top to the sides for the bulkhead rivets. I think we have a pretty good system and Cyndi is getting better at running the gun. We still ended up with a few dents here and there, but we can take care of most of that when it comes time for paint. I did drop the bucking bar once, but it fell onto the foam board before hitting the skin, so very minor dent. I also realized I missed the instructions to rivet the remaining holes on the aft deck, so I took are of that today as well. I was able to squeeze all but 10 or them but were easy enough to buck on my own. Other than attaching the battery tray, I think I’ve done as much as I’m going to do on the Empennage, until I’m ready to start attaching the tail feathers. I’ll find a spot to store everything and then start on the wings.
