Brief Description:  Left Elevator Trim Tab Preparation

I did not like the way the tab bends turned out on the first two trim tabs so I ordered my third. This time I found a fellow builders websight with a great wood block tab bending jig. I took a piece of 3" x 3" hard wood approximately 18" long. I set my band saw up to cut a slot at an angle matching the angle of the trim tab starting at 1/8" and cut a slot the width of the trim tab. Now all I had to do is slide the trim tab into the slot and align the tab bend with the edge of the block and clamp it to the work bench. The rest was easy. Inext clecoed the E-607PP trim tab spar to the trim tab. I clamped the E-717 and E-718 trim tab horns tegether and installed the clevis pin to maintain alignment. I clecoed the trim tab horn to the trim tab skin and match drilled all the holes to #40. I next clamped the E-721 trim tab hinge in place according the the drawing on DWG 4. I matched drilled the holes through the hinge and the remaining holes on the skin. I disassembed the trim tab.
