Brief Description: Roll Servo Jackscrew Backshell Installation
The jackscrew backshell is a bag of parts thta hols the pins in place and allows the harness to be attached to the servo. I studied the manual reference on page 16-7 of the Garmin G3X installation manual and the pinout locations on page 15-27. I pushed each pin into the correct numbered position on the connector until it clicked locked. Once all the pins were installed, I assembled the jackscrew backshell and attached the 2 ground shields with crimp ring connectors. To contain the wire bundle, I decided to pull the bundle through black heat shrink tubing. I wrapped the end of the bundle with tape and attached a pull wire. Using baby powder and the help of my wife Rose we pulled the bundle through the tubing. I used my heat shrink gun to shrink the tubing. Earlier in the year, I had wrapped the bundle in a braided sleeve and decided to use heat shrink instead.
