Brief Description:  Alodine and prime HS parts

Earlier in the week I had made two plywood boxes measuring just over 5' long by 5" square. One I would use for the Alumaprep 33 to acid was the HS parts and the other would be for the Alodine 1201 solution to corrosion proof and provide adhesion for the primer. I diluted the Alumaprep 33 to 4 parts water and one part solution. The Alodine would be used straight. I used wire hangers to suspend the parts in the acid bath for about 2 minutes, rinse with water and let dry. I then suspended the parts in the Alodine for 3 minutes, rinsed with water and let dry. This took me about 2.5 hours to complete. While the HS parts were drying, I strung up wire to hang the parts for primer spraying. I hung all the parts up and let them warm up abit in the sun. I sprayed 3 light coats with a 5 minute flash between coats using SEM self etching green primer #39693. I let the parts dry for a couple of hours while I drained the Alumaprep and Alodine into containers and cleaned up. I moved the parts into the garage and called it a day
