Brief Description:  HS-702 front spar modifications and bends

I had to bend the alumimum angles exactly 6 degrees and 5 and 3/16" out from the center of the aluminum angle. The layout and double check took quite awhile to get it exact. I used a couple of 2" thick hardwood blocks to sandwich the reinforce bar in a machinist vise. I made a templete from a piece of thin cardboard cut to the 6 degree angle I need. With a rubber mallet I just whacked the bar until I had the correct angle. I fliped it over and did the other end. I repeated this on the splice bar and both pieces matched each other. I next had to modify both HS-702 front spar channels according to the instructions. This involved measuring 5 and 3/16" back from the butt ends of the channels. This is where the 6 degree bend line would be. I drilled a #30 hole in each flange radius and enlarged this to 1/4" with my unibit. I then had to cut the excess flange off up to the 1/4" hole. I flattened out the flange so it was flat with the channel and then snipped off the excess. I filed the cuts smooth and finished off with 400grit sandpaper for a smooth edge.
