Brief Description:  Static Line Installation

Earlier I had bonded the 2 static ports to the fuselage skin. Today I will install the static line from port to port around the F-708 fuselage bulkhead. I am using the SafeAir1 static/pitot quick disconnect kit using 1/4" poly tubing. First I threaded the 2 90 degree male elbows to the static ports and tightened. I need to install a tee directly above the left static port elbow to accommodate the tubing run to the instrument panel. The tee has a 10-32 stainless machine screw allowing attachment to a bracket for security. I decided to use the aft AN3 bolt for the shoulder harness anchor attach bracket to mount the union tee bracket. This is just above the left static port and will work nicely. I made the bracket from .064 aluminum stock 1" wide and a couple of inches long. I made a 90 degree 1/4" radius bend using a 1/4" drill bit. I deburred and rounded the edges. I marked the AN3 bolt hole using the existing hole as a template and drilled the hole. I bolted the bracket to the harness anchor and marked the location of the union tee mounting hole. I drilled, deburred and primed the bracket. After drying I installed the bracket. Before I install the union tee, I had to measure the exact length of poly tubing between the tee and angle. I installed the tubing, union tee and secured it in place with the supplied screw. I cut a length of poly tubing to reach from one static port to the other along the circumference of the F-708 bulkhead. I inserted the tube into the right tee and using three clamps and blind rivets secured the tube to the bulkhead. Last, I cut the poly tubing to final length and inserted it into the union tee. Next time I will run the tubing to the instrument panel.
