Brief Description:  Wings Temporarily Fitted to Fusalage

I am still waiting on the aileron servo to arrive and the pitot tube, so I decided to temporarily install the wings to the fusalage. This will allow me to set the incidence angle and install the fuel tank attach bracket plus various other items. I started by removing the flaps and the ailerons and bagging the hardware. Next I cut the legs on a couple of my 2x4 saw horses to a height of 23" to support the wings. I lubed the 8 7/16" pins with BoeLube and I also lubed the wing spars that would insert into the fusalage. I called on the help of my son Reino and my wife Rose to help with the wing installation. We lifted the left wing into position on the saw horses. Reino held the wing tip and I guided the spar into the fusalage. I had Rose with several putty knives make sure the wing skin went over the fusalge belly skin as we guided the wing into position. We werwe able to line up one of the lower 7/16" holes first and insert one pin with a rubber mallet. Lifting the wing a couple of inches brought the upper holes into alignment and I inserted those pins. I inserted the remaining lower pin and placed a saw horse at the wing tip to keep the fuslage from tipping until we had the right wing installed. The right wing went a little smoother and we remove the saw horses. With the wings in place I will level the fusalge and start on the wing incidence, but this will have to wait until next week.
