Brief Description:  Riveted Wing Ribs

Spent the day riveting the ribs to the spar. I started by removing the three inner most ribs which faced in the same direction. That way I had access to the fourth rib. I started by riveting the ribs to the front spar. This allowed me to bend the rib out of the way of the rivet gun. Started outboard in (leaving the 712 rib on the end unriveted.) After all were done, added the inboard ribs one at a time. Things went very well. There was only one rivet with a smile in it. It wasn't that terrible so I decided to heed the advice and leave it alone rather than possibly chew up the spar drilling it out.

The rear spar proved to be more difficult. I had a heck of a time getting the rivet squeezer to fit around the ribs very well. I finally gave up and used the rivet gun and a bucking bar. It worked well enough. Only problem came when riveting the flush rivets at the very outboard part of the spar. That was a fiasco and I ended up having to drill out two of the rivets. I got them set finally using the hand squeezer but it wasn't pretty.
