I drilled out the tie down plates and spacers. They looked like shidoobee. I ordered two new plates and some aluminum bar to start over again.
Biggest problem I had was with drilling. I had set everything up for super high speed drilling since I read that was best for aluminum as opposed to steel where slow is better. Problem is that the drills wander all over the place at 3000 RPM. So I slowed everything down to about 800 RPM to start the holes, only speeding up to 1800 when the hole is formed and the bit centered.
