Brief Description: Cherry Max Rivets - Major Issue
While installing the screws in the gear tower and the surrounding area, I took a look at the cherry max rivets I had installed to join the lower longeron and the bolt weldment. They had not set properly and I could move them by hand up and down.
This turned into a giant problem. I couldn't easily get to them so I had to chop the tops off to pull them back throught the rivet holes. This took a couple hours. I was finally able to use a magnet to pull the steel shaft up where I could insert a chisel under the rivet head which I then used to shear off the rivets. I was able to put back a 4-6 rivet into the hole but have to figure out how to buck them.
