Ugh. Note the L in the picture on the sender. Note that it points to the bottom of the tank, not the top. I had drilled the holes using the fuel sender held BACK to the baffle. Unfortunately as I discovered, the holes are not symetric. What to do.
Decided to remove the fuel sender, cut a large hole baffle, take one of the old T-708 access plates which are pre-drilled for the fuel senders, and install that over the whole.
Needed to get some parts, esp T-407 reinforcement ring and new nut plates.
