Walked out ready to install the nut places onto the tank attach brackets and put everything together. Decided, what the heck, measure twice, cut once. So I cleco’ed the brackets in place, put the tanks on the wing spar, cleco’ed the skins into place. Not even close. Not sure what the heck happened but the tank attach holes were not CLOSE to the holes in the spar. Rather than screw around, I dis-assembled everything, walked to the computer, and ordered 14 new brackets from Van’s. $30. Better safe than sorry.
I still have no idea how the whole thing got so completely off kilter.
