Started on the right tank. First stiffener I undid one cleco at a time, dipped the rivet head in sealant, placed it in, and back riveted it. It worked but the first stiffener took about 15 minutes for four rivets.
The second stiffener I took all four cleco's out, since the stiffener was held in place by the sealant. I then injected the sealant around the rivet hole. Pressing the rivet in place distributed the sealant and then all the rivets were taped in place and I used the little back riveting plate to do the stiffener. Second stiffener only took about 10 minutes.
After that I did each stiffener at a time. Remove the cleco's, inject the sealant, insert the rivet, tape, and back rivet. Then inject a dab of sealant on top of each rivet shop head. Used the popsicle stick to press down on the dab to spread it around the rivet. It took about an hour and a half to do the right tank.
Once the stiffeners were finished, scuffed the tank drain flange, sealed, and cleco'ed it in place. Repeated with the fuel cap flange. (Both had already been match drilled, dimpled/countersunk, and cleaned.)
