Spent an hour getting the second z bracket for the tank attached. Another fiasco.
When I drilled the nut plates that attached to the brackets, I used a cleco to hold the nut plate in place. I put another cleco in the drilled out rivet hole, and then drilled the final rivet hole. Seemed to work fine.
The first bracket must have been lucky cause it fit easily. Second one I stripped two screws and broke a third. Stepped back and started looking at the brackets. The clecos had done a terrible job centering the nut plates for drilling. After consulting the web (how did people do this before the internet?) I gently drilled out the hole in the bracket 1/64th larger than the original #12 hole. Then everything would fit well enough.
I was very surprised that I snapped off a bolt. After re-reading the torque specs, realized I had set up the large wrench for 25 foot-pounds. Not the 25 INCH-pounds I was supposed to use. Threw out those bolts/plates and re-did everything to the correct specs.
