I was wondering why the riveting of the gear weldments had been such a pain. Turns out the spacers that were supposed to be between the skins and the weldments had fallen out when I had applied the firewall sealant and I had carelessly put them on the table.
I had to drill out eight rivets on each side to allow me to slip the spacers back into place and align everything. Re-cleco'ed the poop out of everything and now I think the rivets will work out much much better.
This is one of those how the heck did I do that moments :-(
